Why You Are Afraid of Being Alone
Learn how to be alone without using other people or activities to escape your reality.
Once the distractions are gone, unprocessed emotions will always make sure they let themselves be known. But wait, before you start slaying survival mode, understand this: EVERY emotion needs to flow through your system just like waves in the ocean. The flow is inevitable and blocking it just clogs things up in your system. I mean that literally and figuratively. Seriously...
I know it’s easier said than done. Some emotions are very challenging to sit through. On top of that, you probably have that obnoxious inner critic lurking in your head, finding every opportunity to make mean ass comments about you. This is why you don’t want to be alone. You’ve learned how to become your own bully, and no one wants to be alone with a bully!
Establishing a healthy relationship with yourself is the best thing you could ever do to have peace of mind. You can’t escape yourself. That’s reality. You can hangout, drink alcohol, go shopping, work overtime, or clean excessively all you want but anything unresolved will ALWAYS be there to pester you until you give it attention. You might as well face it and learn how to create a happy home. Just sayin’. 🤷🏻♀️
Once you learn how to work through the angst, loneliness, guilt, shame... and finally become your own best friend, you’ll actually start to appreciate the solitude. It’s blissful. I promise! 😊
